Current Projects

Identify underlying circuits affected by Tremor and Rigidity in Parkinson’s disease and atypical Parkinsonism

  • The goal of this study is to identify brain regions affected by tremor and rigidity in Parkinson’s disease and Progressive supranuclear palsy

  • We are leveraging multimodal MRI such as resting state fMRI, diffusion MRI and T1-weighted imaging modalities

  • We are creating a large scale database aggregated from several smaller datasets to see how these affected brain regions shift during the course of the disease

STN Lead Isolation

Deep Brain Stimulation in Parkinson’s Disease

  • The goal of this study is to identify how deep brain electrode placement can positively impact motor and negatively impact cognitive functions in Parkinson’s disease patients

  • We developed new methods to isolate electrodes and account for post-surgery brain shift in CT images relative to pre-surgical MRI imaging
