UPDATE:  2 new publications in The Lancet Digital Health and Human Brain Mapping

Discovering underlying brain changes in patients with neurodegenerative diseases and other neurological disorders through cutting edge medical imaging research.

My research interests focus on understanding the basis of structural and functional deficits in patients with neurodegenerative diseases and neurological disorders.  The goal of my research is to develop advanced structural and functional MRI techniques in order to identify changes in brain morphology and function in patients.  I use this information in order to develop improvements in early detection, differential diagnosis, tracking of longitudinal changes and treatment interventions. I am also interested in bridging the gap between advanced brain imaging and artificial intelligence with the development of new Deep Learning models of cognitive decline in Parkinson’s Disease. I hope to expand these tools to other neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
